Pops
Pops is a queen, a true diva with many wild stories under her belt!
But it’s not always been this way. She was rescued from an illegal puppy farm seven years ago where she was over bred, starved, abused and left to die. But pops was one of the lucky ones and lives to tell her rags to riches tale!
Her owner Charlie responded to an ad online by a woman claiming to be reminding a dog die to a marriage breakdown. Charlie travelled for 4 hours to meet them and once inside quickly realised the hell hole she’d been lured too.
The sound of dogs barking was overwhelming and multiple puppies were shoved in her face as the breeder tried to make a quick buck. Charlie went to leave and accidentally stumbled into the wrong room where a skinny, terrified little dachshund was left bleeding and whimpering in a reptile tank!
Without hesitation and full of naivety, Charlie scooped her up and the connection was instant. She begged the breeder to let her take her home and even paid him what she was ready to pay for the false advert that led to this.
She left with nothing, not even a collar or a treat, and Charlie knew this little pooch needed immediate veterinary treatment.
The vets were fantastic and got to work immediately on the endless list of infections and conditions and we quickly discovered Pops had recently had a backstreet spay following a failed pregnancy and her wound was very badly infected. The vet prepared Charlie that Pops may not survive as she was “failing to thrive” but Pops came back fighting. Turns out, all she needed was her forever home, and a lotta love from her new mumma to find the strength to heal!
Pops has gone on to be a therapy dog for local hospitals, a dog model, animal rights activist and all round bad ass bitch!
She now lives a blissful life with @itspomegranate and @thepuggysmalls and spends her days posing for photos and relaxing by the fire in Kent and she will be celebrating her tenth birthday next month!
We gifted Pops our signature BAD DOG CLUB collar, lead and harness as we at EDDGY think, that this little sausage (and her mumma) are the baddest and bravest bitches out there and should be part of our gang. This is what Heroes look like!
